WHAT JESUS DO YOU KNOW?
Part - 4
Who Do You Say That He Is?

(If you truly know Him, then why don’t you obey Him?)"Honor the Lord with you possessions and with the firstfruits of all your increase; 10 so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.” - Proverbs 3:9-10

"Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” - I John 3:7-8

I know that most Christians say that Jesus came to bring salvation to the lost. That is a true statement. However, Jesus brought salvation to the lost by first and foremost destroying the works of the devil. It was the work of the devil that brought the temptation to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Paradise. His work started in the Garden of Eden and it will end in the same place, now called the Plain or Valley of Meggido. This is the site of the final battle, the Battle of Armageddon.

God brought forth a prophecy after the fall of mankind. He spoke to the serpent in Genesis 3:14-15 and foretold that the "Seed” of the woman would come to "bruise his head” or destroy his works. Jesus is the "Seed” of the woman, Eve, spoken of in Genesis 3:15. Satan knew the prophecy was about Jesus because women do not have seed, let alone, the Seed. From the day of God’s prophecy the devil knew his time was limited. His hatred for mankind has not subsided in 6,000 years. "The thief (devil) does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy” John 10:10.

If you look at it another way, as soon as Adam and Eve sinned, God had a plan for their salvation already in place. Of course, it would take approximately 6,000 years to fulfill it, but it would certainly be fulfilled. The devil, Satan, knew exactly what God had spoken to him and understood fully what was going to happen. However, he did not know who the Seed (as a person) would be or what He would look like. He even thought he could stop the prophecy from coming to pass. When he failed in all of his attempts in stopping it, he did not give up; no, he redoubled his efforts to destroy as many human beings as possible before his certain destruction.

The devil wanted to kill Eve, but he knew he could not put his hands on her. God’s admonition of the devil when he wanted to destroy Job, gave us an insight into the limits of his power in dealing with mankind, Job 1:12. God told him he could not touch Job’s person. He also could not physically touch Eve, therefore, he attacked her son, Cain.

The devil must have been eager to attack Cain, since Cain just might be the "Seed” of the woman. He could not take any chances, so he introduced the sin of murder to mankind through Cain. When Cain murdered his brother Abel, the devil got rid of both possible seeds of mankind at the same time. At that point he must have thought he had won, but when Eve gave birth to Seth, he knew he needed another plan of attack. Therefore, he also introduced other powerful sins that he hoped would also prove fatal to mankind in the future. The sins of pride, lust, hate, wrath, and fear (to name a few) were now a part of the devil’s arsenal. The best part of all was in that he did not have to lay a hand on anyone, he just had to suggest or tempt and mankind would do the rest.

Even as the works of the devil seemed to be increasing, the will of God to set His creation free was increasing also. Just as it says in Romans 5:20, "Where sin abounded, grace abounded much more.” The devil could not defeat mankind 6,000 years ago and he cannot win today. Jesus has already defeated the devil and restored mankind to righteousness or right standing with God. All we have to do it is accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We have to accept Jesus individually because as they say, God has no grandchildren, just children. By accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior you too are fully prepared to destroy the works of the devil as they manifest in your life. The manifestation is physical, but the root cause is spiritual.

Are fallen angels and demons the same creatures?
"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” Ephesians 6:12.

The angelic/demonic organization described in Ephesians 6:12 is the hierarchical structure that the devil, Satan, oversees. The assignments against the lives of God’s people are issued by and from these forces. They don’t move from place to place, but they do communicate from principality to principality. (Principalities are angelic princes who are placed in charge of a certain area of Earth. It could be a town, a city, a state, a region, or an entire nation. They are part of the fallen angels who kept their proper domain or assignment in the Earth realm, Genesis Chapter 6. Those that did not keep their proper domain and left their own abode are in chains until the day of the great judgment, Jude 6. I explain the difference and where demons came from in my book, "The Road to Self-Worth.”)

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world” -  I Peter 3:8-9

The demonic forces that may be assigned to you to stop you from spreading the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ do not travel with you when you leave your home. As an Evangelist, I travel to other States to take the message of the Lord to certain churches and people. The demon(s) assigned to stop me do not get on the airplane with me. The principality tells the principality in the region that I am going to and then, an assignment is made against me when I enter that region. It does not matter what these angelic or demonic forces plan to do to stop the Gospel because they cannot overcome the power of the name of Jesus. I take authority over these forces before I go and continue to pray in the name of Jesus for authority while I am there in different regions. If they could stop the Gospel from being preached, then it would have happened a long time ago.

(You are saved by confessing Jesus as your Lord and Savior and eternal life is now yours. However, you remain on the Earth in order to tell someone about Jesus and the Kingdom of Heaven of which you are now a faithful Subject. The testimony of your salvation is your most powerful weapon. Tell someone at every opportunity you have. Confess Jesus and be blessed.)

I hope all of this is making sense to you. It is important to know and then to have a better understanding of these angelic and demonic forces because that better defines who you are in Christ Jesus. All temptations, trials, and test (sin, sickness, disease, mental disorders, and death) that come against your mind and flesh come from the devil. "Because the carnal (fleshly) mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God” Romans 8:6-7.

The battle is spiritual, not physical. You will never defeat the devil and his forces in the natural using your thoughts, plans, or theories. No, you must believe that the devil is already defeated by the power of the name of Jesus or you will live a defeated life. You must operate in the spirit to be guided by the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit. "But you (Christians) are not in the flesh but in the spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His” Romans 8:9

"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ Jesus, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled” - II Corinthians 10:3-6.

The power of the name of Jesus gives you authority even over your thoughts. It is not thinking in your mind about evil that is sin (although, your mental thoughts will point you in the direction of sin), it is thinking in your heart to do evil that becomes sin in your life. Don’t allow the thoughts of your mind to become words and actions of your heart. "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he,” Proverbs 23:7. Somewhere in your mental thought process about sin, you have to decide to take authority over it, because if you continue to dwell on sinning in your mind, it will become words and/or action from your heart in your life.

The battle that we are engaged in today is spiritual. Deception is the devil’s primary weapon. His deception will isolate you from the people in your life who help to keep you on course. Like Adam and Eve, he will cause you to doubt God’s Word and believe his lies. If you do not believe that there is a devil or demons, then his job is almost done in you. On any given day you can be deceived into saying or doing anything the devil wants you to do. If you believe that there is no devil, then you must be hearing from God Himself. If you believe that the voice is God’s, then who can tell you anything different? It is just you and God. No matter how horrific the world around you is and is becoming, it won’t matter because there is no devil or demons or hell. Therefore, in the "end” everything will be just wonderful for everyone. Be careful, be very very careful!

Do you have a better mental picture of Jesus? Do you have a better understanding in your heart of Jesus? Before there was a heaven or earth, Jesus was in existence because He is God. All that He did on the Earth, He did as the son of man, not the Son of God. He did it that way so that we too could do everything that He did. Jesus took authority over the devil, demons, sin, sickness, disease, mental disorders, gravity, time, and even death. Every Christian, who believes in Jesus and His teachings, will have the same power to do what He did.

"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” - John 14:6.

"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go the My Father. And whatever you ask in My name that I will do that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. If you love Me, keep My commandments” - John 14:12-15.

"I (Jesus) have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly” - John 10:10.

What Jesus do you know? Who do you say that He is? If you know Him, then keep His commandments. Obey Jesus by faith and not by your own understanding. Your mind/flesh will NEVER figure out the Lord Jesus. Your feelings and emotions will NEVER be in touch or connected to the Lord Jesus. You will NEVER know Him through your five senses. Salvation is a "free will” choice by faith. "For we walk by faith and not by sight” II - Corinthians 5:7.

God bless you and prosper you greatly in this year of harvest! !
