Children

• Children obey your parents.

• So you do not become rebellious and be destroyed, (1 Sam 15:23 ). In the Old Testament, rebellious children were taken to the edge of the city and handed over to the Elders and stoned to death. They did this because they knew that rebellion was the same as witchcraft (all witchcraft is demonic). They also knew that the lord of witchcraft is Satan. Before their children could turn completely from God (and lose their souls) through their rebellion, they stoned them.

• Sorry, we cannot stone them today. Today there is a much better covenant. There is power to forgive, to repent, and restore in our New Covenant with the Lord. Children, thank God for His mercy.

• Fathers train up your children in "The Way" (with the Word of God) they should go (Proverbs 22:6). There is no better way to prepare them for their life in the future.

• Children obey your parents, if you want to live a long life. Children, teenagers in particular are dying at an alarming rate in all kinds of ways. I believe it is partly caused by their rebellion, but I also believe that it was caused by parents not being in right standing with the Lord. Families not attending church weekly, not praying for each other or praying together.

• Parents must cover their children with prayer. Families must attend church and serve the Lord to the best of their ability.

Love is the key to a God kind of family.

• Husbands love your wives. Parents love your children. The best way to love them is to raise them in admonition to the Lord.
