Jesus is Seeking Disciple

(Are you a disciple?) "And when He had called His twelve diciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirts, to cast them out and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease." - (Matthew 10:1)

How many times have you read this scripture and thought that it was refering to just His twelve disciples? This scripture is refering to all disciples of Jesus Christ. I have to clarify this one point and that is, a beliver is not necessarily a disciple. Yes, believers are saved and are going to heaven, but that does not make them disciples. We all have to be believers first and then we are in position to become a disciple.

A believer has faith, but a disciple acts on that faith. No one has any doubt about what a disciple believes because they act like Jesus. A disciple is Christlike in their manner of behavior. There is no doubt that Jesus is their Lord. That is why there are so few of them in churches. They just don't attend church, they are involved in the ministries of the church. They are the first to volunteer and the last to leave. Everybody knows their name or has heard people talk about them. They are easy to find when you need help and hard to get rid of when you are trying avoid them. They are bold and courageous. They are not afraid to acknowledge the Lord.

Are you a believer or a disciple? How long have you been saved and how long have you been a church member? These are very important questions during these End Times. The world's poplulation is growing exponentially and it is a struggle and a fight to keep up with the growth in terms of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It does take everyone doing their share, if the world is going to be reached. If you are a disciple, then what are you doing about spreading the Gospel? If they began to arrest Christians tomorrow, would you be arrested? Would anyone know that you are a Christian? Believers in Jesus Christ often are not sure if they are Christians.

If you don't believe that God needs you to play an active role in spreading the Gospel, then you will never be a disciple. Jesus gave power to His disciples, not to those who believed. Jesus knew that the believers would not take the Gospel to the world. All Christians have the power to cast out demons and to lay hands on the sick and see them healed of their illness. However, only disciples will do it. It takes a disciple to take on Satan and his demonic forces in the name of Jesus. It takes a disciple "to walk by faith and not by sight" I Corinthians 5:7.

It is sad to see so many "Christian" Churches suffering within their congregations with sickness and disease; marital problems and even divorce; unrepented, unresolved sin issues that leadership will not address, like members living together in a sexual Relationships; rebellious members, causing chaos; and even pastoral misconduct. These churches are gripped in fear and confusion. One day they appear to be thriving and the next, they are hanging on for their existence. These churches are often filled with believers, who may even know the Word of God, but they don't serve the Lord their God.

Is it possible to love the Lord and yet, refuse to serve Him? God gave to each person certain gifts, talents, and skills. If they refuse to use them, then they will become burdens, stumbling blocks, and anchors around their necks. They will take their endowments to the world, where they will be squandered and used up. I am talking about Christians, who believe, but refuse to surrender and serve. Hopefully, they will see the error of their ways before it becomes too late.

Believers often don't seem to understand that you cannot run too fast or too far to get away from the Lord. Believing is enough to get you saved, but your believing is not enough to get someone else saved. The Lord is seeking disciples. Disciples obey the Word of God. Disciples are not afraid to tell someone else about Jesus. Disciples are not addicted to anything because their flesh no longer has authority over their spirit self. Disciples are free.

This year truly a year of harvest. God's Spirit is being poured out on the earth. How can you receive from the Lord if you are not in position or not serving Him? Don't panic or fear, just start to act on the Word of God. Being a disciple of the Lord Jesus is not difficult. Everything that He wants you to do, He has already written down. He will not ask you to do anything that you can't do. He will not ask you for anything that you don't already have. It is so good to serve the Lord.

Jesus has given the Body of Christ authority in heaven and on earth. Become a disciple and begin to use that authority. The world is waiting and looking on to see if Jesus is real. Jesus will do all that He said He would do. Jesus will acccomplish that for which He was sent. He will prosper the person who receives His Word and acts on it. If you are acting on the Word of God, then you are His disciple. If you choose not to serve the Lord, He will certainly choose and use someone else who is willing.

Someone has already sown for the harvest that will come forth this year. Will you be a help or a hinderence to the gathering in of the harvest? I pray that you will be a help and do what the Lord has commissioned you to do in the name of Jesus. Be His disciple and abide in His Word, then you shall know the truth and truth will make you free. Free to accomplish all things that He predestined for you to do.

Don't take anything to the grave that the Lord gave you to share while you are here on earth. As George Bernard Shaw said, "be completely used up when you die." Be His disciple and just do it.

"All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." - (Matthew 28:18-10)

PRAISE THE LORD!

Prayer of Salvation (pray it out loud)

Father God, I come before you in the name of Jesus.
I believe in my heart that Jesus died for my sins.
I believe You raise Jesus from the dead and
He is alive and with You in heaven. I confess
That Jesus is now my Lord and Savior.
I repent of all my sins.
I renounce Satan and all his evil works.
I believe that I am saved and
I will be with You in heaven for all eternity when I die.
I believe that I am now a born again follower of
Jesus Christ. Amen!

If you prayed this prayer, you are now born again.
All your sins are forgiven, yes, every sin from the first
time you (knowingly) sinned until this very moment.
You are now a Christian.

Praise the Lord!

If you do not have a Bible, get one and read it everyday.
Start with the New Testament and read
as much as you can daily.

If you do not belong to a Christian Church,
then find one in your area.

God has great things ahead for you, so get into
fellowship with other believers who can help
you, teach you, and edify you.

Congratulations!

Welcome to the Body of Jesus Christ.
